FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT is a story about eighteen-year-old Audrey Adams, who is the sole protector of her 15-year-old sister, Gabby, after their mother died from cancer a year ago. When Gabby becomes the victim of an accident at the hands of their father, Audrey is faced with making decisions no one her age should have to make. Going off to college and continuing her softball career was her escape ticket, but now she must balance what is best for her future while taking care of her sister, which is what her mom begged of her before she died.

When Audrey discovers information left behind by her mother, she questions everything she thought she knew surrounding her mother’s death. Being the only person with this new knowledge, she embarks on a path of self-discovery, explores the dynamics of her family and is forced to decide if forgiveness is possible. She desires freedom from the pressures of continuously caring for others, but feels a deep responsibility for nurturing the family her mother left behind and her father neglects. Will she trade her fierce independence and martyrdom for learning to rely on others and trust again? Audrey is used to life not going according to plan, but she also may discover not everyone and everything can be fixed or saved.
